About Us

The Zanesville YACHT CLUB was established in the year 1980 to support the improvement, protection, promotion and enjoyment of the Muskingum River Parkway and it's environment. The ZYC is dedicated to safe recreational boating, which includes better aids to navigation and improved facilities both on and along the Muskingum River. With our clubhouse and facilities located at 3805 North River Road West, along the banks of the Muskingum River, we share the same interests and concerns of other property owners along the river, especially of those along the pool behind Zanesville Lock and Dam #10.
The ZYC is most proud of it's unique program to promote the Muskingum River Parkway System. Boaters can qualify as a ?MUSKINGUM RIVER NAVIGATOR AND SHALLOW WATER SAILOR? by navigating the entire length of the parkway, passing through each of the ten locks and dams. Those that qualify are sent a certificate for framing, more than 400 ''Captains'', one from as far away as Sweden, have qualified to date. To encourage participation, the ZYC offers a SPECIAL Muskingum RIVER TOUR PACKAGE is limited to guests and non-residents of Muskingum County, Ohio. Benefits include launching of boat, parking privileges for car and trailer, and use of showers and rest rooms & remodeled clubhouse. Check with the Commodore for further details.
