About Us
The Genesis HealthCare Foundation's mission is to promote charitable support for Genesis HealthCare System and share its mission to ''provide compassionate, quality health care.'' This is accomplished through gifts, grants, bequests and the generosity of the private donors, businesses and organizations within our community.
Since its inception in 1999 through the merger of Bethesda Hospital Foundation and Good Samaritan Medical Center Foundation, the Genesis Foundation has provided over $65 million in financial support to the community through life-saving projects and programs at Genesis HealthCare System.
Through the generous financial support of donors, the Foundation has invested $2.5 million in "Smart" IV pumps that are programmable to meet patient's specific needs, $2 million in Spect CT scanner that provides better images for diagnosis, faster scans and reduced costs, $2 million in the Genesis Perry County Medical Center, and $14 million in the Genesis Coshocton Medical Center. Foundation funds were also used to purchase priority capital equipment for service lines such as cancer and cardiovascular services. In addition, the Foundation awarded $250,000 (to date) in scholarships to local students seeking degrees in the health care field.
