ALICE Training for Active Shooter Incidents
The local Safety Council is hosting a two hour training session on how to respond to an active shooter incident at your workplace. The presenter will be Bethany Hayes, who is an investigator with the Muskingum County Prosecutor's Office, and she is a certified trainer in the ALICE approach to dealing with crises. ALICE is shorthand for Alert - Lockdown - Inform - Counter - Evacuate, which is a protocol involving a series of options that when applied during a crisis experts believe saves lives. Bethany's presentation will address questions such as:
- What exactly is ALICE?
- Why should employers prepare?
- How should employers prepare?
- How will you respond to a violent incident at your workplace?
